I hadn't heard of DimDim, so I just setup a trial account hoping it would be a viable alternative to GotoMeeting. Short answer: no. Sadly, it seemed very slow and unresponsive. The extra $40/month for GotoMeeting now seems good value.

This is fascinating. Yet another reason I should dive in and learn Ruby!

There are some great screencasts on their blip.tv channel (which don't all appear to be on their website) http://adhearsion.blip.tv/

I completely agree with you on this. This guy clearly knows how to successfully conceive, develop and bring an idea to market. There must be countless ideas in his head. Invest in those!!

Thanks. This looks great. It's exactly the sort of thing I am looking for as I too don't want waste time re-learning the basics!

This is pretty cool and worth noting for future project, but I can't help thinking it makes more sense to do this server side.

It would be more useful, to me at least, if it converted user inputted "cute dates" (i.e 3 days ago) into a compliant timestamp (i.e 2010-1-29 20:13:00).

Their choice to use cloud services makes perfect sense. It will enable them to create new servers on the fly, when required, as well as resizing and allocating resources as needed, keeping costs down and efficiency high.

It inspires me that we have these cloud services at our disposal. And maybe Posterous (and many other great startups) would not have been conceived without the founders having access to such technology.
