i like the last post response:

As the superior German programmer I am I've already solved the problem in my head as per your specification. I'm able to deliver a solution in source code in any language that can print a line of text. If necessary, I can also provide flowcharts and a solution on solid German-made paper.

I've been working on http://www.storewriter.com for a while and finally got a preview version online. What do you guys think? What kind of improvements would you like to see? Any feature requests?

Thanks in advance.

I've been working 2 weeks now full time, and been trying to work on my own startup on nights and weekends. I didn't know how hard it was when people talked about it until now. And I thought school and startup was hard. To illustrate, I come home at 6pm, fall asleep until 8pm, code until 1am, sleep from 2am to 8am, and start all over again. I guess this is called moonlighting.

I am going to stop this moonlighting stuff and work full time on my startup with a new appreciation in about a week. I'm saving about 1k per week, which is about my monthly expense. I'm almost done with the beta (after 6 months), and I think the reason I'm not at full time is because I'm afraid of failing. But it doesn't matter now because I just paid $500 to get inc'ed and I got enough to last until the end of summer.

A side note, from my full time job, I've learned that lunch breaks are a boost to productivity.

If you moonlight too, or did before, please share your insight.

Great article, this is the type of interesting stuff that keeps me coming back. The author suggests an interesting hypothesis in the end:

"Memory processing seems to be the only function of sleep that actually requires an organism to truly sleep--that is, to become unaware of its surroundings and stop processing incoming sensory signals. This unconscious cognition appears to demand the same brain resources used for processing incoming signals when awake. The brain, therefore, might have to shut off external inputs to get this job done. In contrast, although other functions such as immune system regulation might be more readily performed when an organism is inactive, there does not seem to be any reason why the organism would need to lose awareness. Thus, it may be these other functions that have been added to take advantage of the sleep that had already evolved for memory."
